    Frances Ann Mirick, 88, of Lorena, passed away surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, January 16, 2018. A graveside service will be held, 10 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Lorena Cemetery, with Pastor Derek Whitten officiating. The family will receive visitors Friday, January 19, from 5-7 pm, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home 3124 Robinson Dr.
    Frances was born, April 21, 1929, in Coryell County, to Tom and Merle Copeland. She married the love of her life, John E. Mirick Sr., on June 7, 1947, in Lorena, TX. She enjoyed RVing, Fishing, Sewing and Oil Painting.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, John E. Mirick Sr. (Jay); Son, John E. Mirick, Jr.; Sisters, Dorothy Driskell Behringer, Tommie Sue Boykin and Catherine Copeland.
    She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Montgomery and husband, Bryan; daughter-in-law, Susan Mirick; grandsons, Bryan Mirick and wife Melissa, Michael Montgomery, and Matthew Montgomery and wife, Amanda; granddaughter, Katie Baldwin and husband, Joshua; great-granddaughters, Lauren Baldwin, Kimberly Reusch, Kaitlyn Reusch and Piper Montgomery; great-grandsons, John and Zane Mirick; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
    Honorary Pallbearers will be, Bryan Mirick, Michael Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Joshua Baldwin, John Swanson and Steve Kincer.

    Dorothy Driskell Behringer, 84, of Waco, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 at St. Catherine's Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Wilkirson-Hatch Bailey Chapel with the Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey.

    Dorothy was born in Lorena, Texas, to the late Thomas and Merle Copeland. She grew up in Lorena and Mullen, Texas, and graduated salutatorian from Mullen High School in 1942. She worked for the United Way for 21 years as the Associate Executive Director. Dorothy was a member of Richfield Christian Church in Waco, a 38-year member of the American Business Women's Association, the Lorena Eastern Star and the Lorena Cemetery Association.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Driskell and Bob Behringer; daughter, Virginia Swanson; grandddaughter, Lauren Kincer; and sisters, Catherine Copeland and Tommie Sue Boykin.

    She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Kincer and husband, Steve, of Waco, and Nancy Rich and husband, Scot, of Corpus Christi; son-in-law, John J. Swanson, of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Margaret Ann Swanson-Abendschien, Suzan Swanson, Melissa Linendoll, Jennifer Querrey and Jeffrey Atwell; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Mirick, of Waco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers are Jeffrey Atwell, John Querry, Bryan Mirick, Doyle Bood, Jim McKethan and Steve Atwell. Honorary Pallbearers are Don, Randy and Bill Behringer.

    A special loving thank you is expressed to St. Catherine's Hospice Staff for sharing in her journey.

    Memorials may be made to Grant Story Fund in care of Richfield Christian Church.

    John Everett Mirick Jr., 57, of Lorena, passed away Nov. 21, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    John was born on Aug. 8, 1950, in Brownwood, Texas, to John E. Mirick Sr. and Frances (Copeland) Mirick. He graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas. He joined the U.S. Air Force, and went to Vietnam. He married his childhood sweet-heart, Susan Kurz, on Feb. 12, 1971, in Dallas. He was employed by Meadows-Springfield Co., where he was a lithographer. He was a beloved and caring son-in-law, that took care of his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fredna and Frank Kurz, during their illnesses. He was a founding member and helped establish the local chapter of S.A.S.S., the Old Fort Parker Patriots where his nickname was "Splintermaker." He also chartered the first Boy Scout Troop in Lorena, #462, and was a leader in the troop for five years, he also assisted his daughter in the Camp Fire Girls. John loved woodworking, fishing, the "outdoors", but all that he did was for his children, Bryan and Katie.

    John was a very loving and fun person and will be loved and missed by all who knew him, his funeral will be a celebration of his life.

    John was preceded in death by his father, John Mirick Sr.; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fredna and Frank Kurz.

    Survivors include his beloved wife of 36 years, Susan; son, Bryan Mirick and wife, Melissa, of Eddy; daughter, Katie Baldwin and husband, Joshua, of San Antonio; granddaughter, Lauren Elise Baldwin, the light of his life; mother, Frances Copeland Mirick, of Waco; sister, Sharon Montgomery and husband, Bryan, of Mesquite; brother-in-laws, Jimmy and wife, Linda Kurz and children of Houston and Ronnie Kurz, of Gun Barrel City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
