    Notes:

    Mary Ellen grew up near Whitney in Hill County, Tx. Per widow of son Staton, she was very large (300 lbs.) and had several physical ailments, including Bright's disease. Per son A.T., she died of dropsy. Per same widow, all the Carter sons were hard of hearing and were good-looking, nice people. Son A.T. said she died age 39, but handwritten record said she died 1935. Son A.T. said she was about 5 feet tall (another son said 5'2"-5'3") with dark hair (another son said dark brown) and blue eyes (another son said gray or blue eyes). She had small feet and hands and medium fair skin. None of her children with whom I spoke remembers her ever talking about her father, who died before they were born.
    She is buried at Greenwood, Old East Waco cemetery. Was told her funeral was heavily attended because she knew everyone in East Waco and was well liked.

    "Doyle" Ruben Lowell Anderson, 58, passed away on Sunday, June 29th, 2008 in Houston, Texas. He was born on July 3rd, 1949 in Waco, Texas to Elmer Otis and Willie Lena Anderson. Doyle is survived by five children: Dennis Anderson and wife Kim, Melissa Whatley and husband Antwain, Hiram Brown and wife Carissa, Lonnie Reynolds and wife Pei, and Angela Foret and husband Craig; five grandchildren: Bianca, Desiree, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Josh; great-grandson Paul III; many nieces, nephews and very special friends. Doyle will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

    Marvin E. Mangham, 65, of Penrose, Co., passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at a local hospital.

    Marvin "Gene" Mangham, originally from Waco, was born June 2, 1947, to Marvin H. and Roxie Mangham. He attended University High and married his high school sweetheart, Louise Anderson, on Sept. 16, 1966. The couple had two boys, Richard Mangham and William Mangham.

    Gene served his county in the US Army for 30 years and during that time earned many commendations including the Meritorious Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Expert Field Medical Badge, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Badge (M16 Rifle), Parachutist Badge and many others. Gene's passion for his country was only exceeded by his passion for fishing and hunting. He loved all things outdoors and spent as much time as possible enjoying life.

    He is survived by his father, Marvin H. Mangham; four siblings, Sandy Brownlow and husband, Gene, Randy Mangham and wife, Julie, Judy Bessellieu and husband, Les, and Laurie Brown and husband, Allen. He had one granddaughter, Ashley Sigler.

    Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Mangham.
