    Larry A. MirickMay 1, 1941 - May 1, 2015Larry Anthony Mirick, 74, of Lorena, passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2015. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, May 4, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr. in Waco, with the Rev. Lynn Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 3, at the funeral home.Larry was born May 1, 1941 in Waco to the late Eugene and Annie (Sapp) Mirick. He graduated from Lorena High School. He met his wife LaNette while in school and they were married in 1958. Larry served his country in the United States Air Force. He owned L.A.M. Construction, Inc. for 35 years. Larry and LaNette are members of Mooreville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and trips to their second home in Colorado. He was generous to everyone and later in life, he loved singing good southern gospel to residents in various retirement homes. Larry will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.Larry is preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.A. Mirick and sister, Nelta Warrick.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, LaNette; daughters, Terri Chaudoin and husband, Tommy and Tracy Mirick; son, Bret Mirick and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Shawn Chaudoin and wife, Angela, Jordan Mirick and Lindsay Mirick; great-grandson, Arik Chaudoin; brother, Bill Mirick and wife, Jean; foster sister, Earlene Simons; loving mother-in-law, Allene Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital

    Billie Gene "Bill" Mirick, 92, of Fort Worth formally of Lorena, passed away, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2018, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Reverend Wayne Blackshear officiating, visitation will begin one hour to service in the Mausoleum Chapel, interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

    Bill was born, December 8, 1925, to the late Eugene and Annie Mirick. He attended Lorena High School where he excelled in football and basketball.

    He proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Merchant Marines serving on the ship, SS Marina Raskova. He was honorably discharged June 20, 1945. Upon returning from serving his country, he worked alongside his father for the Katy Railroad. He then worked for Owens Illinois Glass in Waco. Bill and his wife owned Hewitt Grocery and Mirick Trenching Company.

    One of Bill's greatest pleasures was dove hunting with his brother-in-law, Billy Blanton. He also enjoyed bass fishing a Lake Whitney and deer hunting in Johnson City. One of his favorite hobbies was working in his woodshop making different items for family and friends. He also raised Brahman cattle which he sold for show stock.

    Bill fell in love and married Jean Blanton, February 28, 1945. They had three children, Mike, Pat and Carolyn.

    He is survived by his wife, Jean Blanton; children, Mike and wife, Gayle Mirick, Pat and husband, Lynn Parnell, and Carolyn Kelly; grandchildren, Michael Mirick, Jr., Kristine Stephens, Tammy Graham, Jennifer Fitzgearld, Kevin Parnell and eleven great-grandchildren.

    Nelta Lynn Warrick, 78, went to rejoice with her Lord May 23, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Lorena. Funeral services and interment will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 at the Lorena Cemetery on Lowry Road under the direction of Pecan Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel M. Robbins of Mooreville United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Warrick was born June 13, 1929, in Lorena, the daughter of the late Eugene and the late Annie (Sapp) Mirick, where she attended Lorena schools. On Feb. 9, 1948, she married the late Jack Scott Warrick in Lorena. After 63 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2001. She devoted her life to her family. She had many titles including Honey, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Nana, Pee Wee and Frank. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her canine companion, "Missy". She was also preceded in death by her brother, J.A.Mirick. Survivors included her sons, Steve Warrick and wife, Kathy of Lorena, and Jeff Warrick and wife Tracy of Allen, Texas; brothers, Bill Mirick and wife Jean, of Hewitt, and Larry Mirick and wife ,Lanette of Lorena; grandchildren Brandy Strebe, Brittany Warrick, Stevie Warrick, Hunter Warrick and Hannah Warrick; great-grandchildren Zachary Strebe and Lane Strebe; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers are Bret Mirick, Charles Taylor, Bill Warrick, Jerry Warrick, Mark Warrick, Paul Warrick, Hunter Warrick and Stevie Warrick.
