    Mrs. Moore Grieves Over Death of Husband and Dies Two Days Later

    Yielding to unbearable grief over the death of her husband Monday, Mrs.
    George Moore of Moody died at her home two days later and was buried at the
    old Perry cemetery near Moody yesterday afternoon. George Moore was one of
    the early settlers of McLennan county and his wife had resided in this
    county since childhood. They had lived together sixty years, devoted to one
    another as husband and wife, and when the summons came for her faithful and
    cherished mate, Mrs. Moore, though in her usual good health, could not
    continue the battle of life. She died of grief over the tragedy that
    separated her from her loved one. Mrs. Moore is survived by seven children.
    They are: Jesse Moore, Mrs. Lizzie Welsch, Walter Moore, David Moore, Mrs.
    Eddie Shaw, all of Moody; and Mrs. Emer Smith, Bruceville, and Will Moore,
    Waco. She was married to Mr. Moore in the home of Colonel Turner Hubby about
    60 years ago. They now lie side by side In the old Perry cemetery at Moody.
    She died very peacefully, and was entirely in her right mind until the very
    last, and called each of her children to her and gave them the last message.

    During his term as Master, Waco Lodge was in the midst of the hectic days of World War II and the schedule was very heavy.

    Mildred Louise Brownlow, 85, of Robinson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at Robinson First Baptist Church with the Rev. Micheal Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Pecan Grove Funeral Home.

    Louise was born in Bruceville, Texas, to the late Rurie and Sarah Mirick. On Oct. 16, 1946, she married J.D. Brownlow in Salome, Ariz. Louise was very active both with her family as well as in the community. She loved to bowl and was an active participant in several bowling leagues. For many years Louise was a volunteer in the Fine Arts Building at the Heart 'O Texas Fair, and enjoyed her time as a member of the County Extension Homemakers Club. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to sew, quilt, embroider, and crochet. She enjoyed painting and cooking, as she "built" many cakes for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with family and friends no matter what the occasion. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Robinson. Louise was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by many and respected by all who were blessed to know her.

    Louise was preceded in death by a great-grandson, P.J. Cross; brothers, Jay and Bud Mirick; and sisters, Martha Elizabeth Mirick, Jenita Jo Wilson, and Emma Lee Hardy.

    She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, J.D. Brownlow, of Waco; son, Gene Brownlow and wife, Sandy, of Rockwall; daughter, Jenita Ferguson, of Waco; grandchildren, Tammy Brownlow, of Palestine, Donnie Brownlow, of Waco, Sarah Cross and husband, Prentiss, of China Spring, and Matthew Ferguson, of Waco; great-grandchildren, Johnny Brownlow and Kylee Cook; brothers, June Mirick and wife, Eva Mae, of Dallas, Charles Mirick and wife, Guynetta, of Dallas, and Dee Mirick and wife, Bobbie, of Kauffman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

    Eugene "Bud" Mirick, Sr., 78, of Bosqueville passed away Monday, April 30, 2007. Services will be 10 a.m., May 3, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. David Hardage officiating.Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at the funeral home.

    Eugene Jesse "Bud" was born to Rurie Arthur and Sarah Lee Smith Mirick in Bruceville, Texas, on Dec. 17, 1926. After serving 18 months in the U. S. Army, Eugene married the love of his life, Wanama Sue Boen, on April 8, 1950. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Bud retired after 22 years with Brazos Valley Coors, continuing to farm that entire time, working the land. He was also a longtime mechanic. Bud was of the Baptist faith.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Wanama Sue Mirick; brother, J.E. "Jay" Mirick; sisters, Martha Mirick, Emmalee Hardy and Jenita Jo Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Boen and James Boen.

    Those left behind to cherish his memory are sons, Rickie Mirick, Sr. and Eugene "Scooter" Mirick, Jr. both of Waco; sister-in-law, Vickie McAdams and husband, Tommy of Waco; brothers, R.A. "June" Mirick, Jr. and wife, Eva Mae of Dallas, C.W. "Chuck" Mirick and wife, Guynetta of Dallas, and A.L. "Dee" Mirick and wife, Bobbie of Kaufman; sister, Louise Brownlow and husband, J.D. of Waco; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Edwin Boen and wife, Lydia; sister-in-law, Lavonne Boen; and numerous nieces and nephews. .

    Arthur L. Mirick, age 69 of Royse City, TX, passed away September 28, 2013. He was born May 9, 1944, in Waco, TX, to R.A. and Sarah Lee (Smith) Mirick. He was Baptist.

    Arthur is survived by his wife: Bobbie Mirick; daughters: Sherry Cosby Lee and husband Thomas and Kim Reppen and husband John; step-son: Curt V.S. Temple, Sr.; step-daughter: Tammy Lynn Ethridge and husband Calvin; brother: C.W. Mirick; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jay and Bud Mirick; and sisters: June Mirick, Louise Brownlow, Emily Hardy, Jenita Jo Wilson and Martha Elizabeth Mirick.

    Funeral services will be held 10:00am Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel. Interment will be in Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
