Sir John Brownlow, 1st and last Bt. was born circa 1594.2 He was the son of Richard Brownlow and Katharine Page.1 He married Alice Pulteney, daughter of Sir John Pulteney.1 He died on 23 November 1679, without issue.2
Sir John Brownlow, 1st and last Bt. matriculated at St. Mary Hall, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 26 June 1607.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1608.2 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 28 April 1610 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire from 1639 to 1640.1 He was created 1st Baronet Brownlow, of Belton, near Grantham, co. Lincoln [England] on 26 July 1641.2 In 1643 at Grantham, Lincolnshire, England, he was indicted for high treason, suggesting he was a royalist in the Civil War.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1665.1
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
