    Calvin Eugene Brownlow, 76, of Alamogordo, N.M. died Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 2016, in his home. Born Oct. 29, 1939, in Waco, Texas, to James Archie Brownlow and Fleda Cockrell. On Dec. 17, 1962, Calvin married his stunning bride, Margaret Ann Lambert at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. A graduate of West High School, Calvin entered the United States Air Force in 1959 and retired in 1979. In 1985, Calvin became a civil servant with the Department of Defense and retired in 2001.

    In 2002, Calvin and Margaret moved to Alamogordo where they knew it would be their forever home. Calvin enjoyed volleyball and was an avid sports fan. His love was his wife and the life they lived. He delighted in his RV'ing and traveling the country. His serenity was a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise and sunset from his porch.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Alamogordo, sister, Joann Chesser of Trinity, Texas, two children: Dale Brownlow (Peggy Snyder) of Midwest City, Okla., and Robert Brownlow (Doreen Moore) of Macomb, Ill.; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

    Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers' and two sisters: Bobby Brownlow, David Brownlow, Mourine Rogers, Linda Gibson and his daily coffee companion Otto.

    A Celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Alamogordo Funeral Home, 2301 First Street, at 2 p.m.
    The burial service will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at 1:30 p.m., at the National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Road, Fort Bliss, Texas.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Connally-Compton Downtown Chapel, the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.
    Mr. Brownlow was born Sept. 11, 1901 in Concrete. He was a resident of Waco for 60 years before moving to San Antonio. He was a Baptist.
    Survivors include three sons, Bobby Brownlow of Austin, David Brownlow of El Paso and Calvin Brownlow of San Antonio; and 13 grandchildren.
