    Rt. Hon. Sir John Cust, 3rd Bt. was born on 29 August 1718.2 He was the son of Sir Richard Cust, 2nd Bt. and Anne Brownlow.2 He was baptised on 25 September 1718 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Covent Garden, London, England.3 He married Etheldred Payne, daughter of Thomas Payne and Elizabeth Folkes, on 8 December 1743.2 He died on 24 January 1770 at age 51.1 He was buried on 8 February 1770 at Belton, Lincolnshire, England.3 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 26 April 1770.3
    Rt. Hon. Sir John Cust, 3rd Bt. was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Cust, of Stamford, co. Lincoln [E., 1677] on 25 July 1734.2 He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1739 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).3 He was admitted to Middle Temple on 26 November 1742 entitled to practice as a Barrister.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Grantham between 1743 and 1770.3 He held the office of Clerk of the Household between 1747 and 1751, to Frederick, Prince of Wales.3 He held the office of Steward of the Household in 1751, to the Dowager Princess of Wales.3 He held the office of Clerk of the Household between 1751 and 1760, to George, Prince of Wales.3 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1759 in the service of the South Battalion, Lincolnshire Militia.3 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Commons between 3 November 1761 and 19 January 1770.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 24 January 1762.3

    Sir Richard Cust, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 30 October 1680 at St. George's Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.2 He was the son of Sir Pury Cust and Ursula Woodcock.1 He married Anne Brownlow, daughter of Sir William Brownlow, 4th Bt. and Dorothy Mason, in 1717.1 He died on 25 July 1734 at age 53.1 He was buried at St. George's Church, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.2 His will was probated in August 1754.2
    Sir Richard Cust, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Cust, of Stamford, co. Lincoln [E., 1677] on 30 August 1700.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1721.2
