Mrs. Jacqueline Bateman Brownlow, 74, of 100 Breckindale Circle passed away Thursday, April 11, 2002, in her home.
She was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Eden, one of eight children to Jesse Benjamin Bateman and Ora Gilley Bateman.
She lived most of her life in Winston-Salem with her late husband, Robert Lee Brownlow Sr. She and her husband were owners of Economy Supply Co. in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Brownlow was a homemaker and a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, David K. Brownlow and wife Hannah of Winston-Salem, John Richard Brownlow and wife Mary of Advance and Robert Lee Brownlow Jr. and wife Jeanie of Roanoke, Va.; a daughter, Joy Thomasson and husband Jody of Advance; seven grandchildren, Robert Lee (Robbie) Brownlow III, Kara Brownlow, Ryan Brownlow, Claire Brownlow, Ann Campbell Brownlow, Morgan Thomasson and Andrew Thomasson; four brothers, Clive Bateman and wife JoAnne of Charlotte, J.B. Bateman Jr. of Marietta, Ga., Robert Morris Bateman and wife Catherine of Greensboro and Harold Bateman and wife Margaret of Nakina; three sisters, Louise Sawyer of Burlington, Marian Pavitt and husband Owen of Eaton, Ga. and Jean Bateman of Bowling Green, Ohio.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Roland T. Barnhardt officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the home of Joy Thomasson. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 202 CentrePort Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409.
